The Value of Mint Tea

The BBC website has an article titled Cup of mint tea is an effective painkiller, which notes research in the UK on hyptis crenata- better known as mint tea. The tea is commonly used in Brazil to treat maladies which include stomach pain, fevers and headaches. A related paper was published in the journal Acta Horticulturae.

The taste of mint tea is more medicinal-like than pleasant. According to lead researcher Graciela Rocha, who is Brazilian, mint tea tastes more sage than what people associate with mint taste. Sage is a part of the mint family though.
